Position Summary:
Samsung Research America is seeking a passionate and collaborative Lead Android Engineer to join our Health team in Mountain View, CA.
As a Lead Android Engineer, you will be working closely with an experienced, collaborate and entrepreneurial team that strives to offer superior digital health products on wearable and mobile devices, backed by world-class research, technical, and manufacturing capabilities. As a cross-disciplinary health-focused product development team consisting of research, technology, design, strategy and product functions, you have the opportunity contributing to define the next generation of mobile and wearable health product and service experiences. You will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of mobile and wearable products, and also participate in the overall system design. You will take the very best concepts through various stages of production coding, to prove feasibility of a concept and to complete end-to-end functional software services. You will also be expected to help prove concept feasibility and provide input into the architecture of the services we are building. Position Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, implementation of various health products for mobile and/or wearable devices
- Guide performance optimization, modular implementation etc., and make sure the system design is flexible and extensible.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (design, research, product, QA) to define, design and develop new products from concept to mass production
- Identify and champion development of differentiated new technologies, and contribute to the product & technology roadmap
Experience Requirements:
- 10+ years’ experience in Software Development along with leadership experience
- Master’ degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency with development on at least two mobile/wearable platforms including Android, WearOS, iOS, etc.
- Experience with at least two programming languages including Kotlin, Java, Javasript, C++/C, Swift, Object C
- Strong system development skills (sensors, media, algorithms, threading, memory management, sync, networking, power)
- Strong foundation in data structure and algorithms
- Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON
- Experience with software toolkit design and implementation
- Experience with Health Connect or HealthKit SDK
- Experience with Samsung Privilege SDK or Samsung Health Android SDK
- Direct experience leading and managing software engineering team
- Experience working across a diverse global organization and building partnerships with cross functional teams inside and outside of the organization
- Good communication/presentation skill and team work spirit
