The Senior Build and Automation engineer will be responsible for building innovative frameworks across Tinder Engineering. In this role, the Senior Build and Automation engineer will be working with various feature teams and outsourced QA automation engineers to ensure the highest quality during development and that products are released on time with solid test automation coverage. This candidate will be responsible for recommending, improving and implementing testing tools, techniques and technologies. We are looking for a leader of automation that can work alongside our team at Tinder to continuously improve our automated testing efficiency while maintaining our bar of quality to the supreme levels our customers expect. The Senior Build and Automation engineer will be maintaining our build stack and updating to the latest versions of Gradle, Android Gradle Plugin and other components of our build stack.

This is a hybrid role and requires in-office collaboration twice per week. Our offices are located in West Hollywood, Palo Alto, California
What You'll Do
- Partner with product and engineering teams to ensure features are developed with automated testing in mind.
- Evaluate existing automation frameworks and test scripts, and drive any necessary changes.
- Recommend, augment and implement usage of proven automation tools, technologies and techniques to solve specific situations.
- Lead and train quality engineering vendor team members on best practices and building automation frameworks.
- Create an automated dashboard to elevate the quality of our releases by helping maintain automated tests integrated into our CI/CD pipelines.
- Lead evaluation of various vendor tooling with scalable Proof of Concepts.
- Own, manage and improve our CI pipelines on Android.
- Maintain our build stack and keep it up to date with latest versions (eg Gradle, Android Gradle Plugin version)
- Improve the reliability and performance of test and build processes.
What You'll Need
- A minimum of 4+ years of experience in professional experience building large scale mobile applications for direct consumer-facing apps (Business to Consumer) built on Android for a global tech company
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience in a similar field.
- 2+ years of experience with automation frameworks testing Mobile Apps. Ideally the candidate should have experience with Espresso tests. Other frameworks like Appium, Calabash are nice to have.
- Solid Knowledge of automation implementation including but limited to functional, performance, regression, analytics, accessibility
- Experience working with external testing solutions such as BrowserStack, Marathon lab or Firebase test lab.
- Avid Learner: Passion for continuous learning and able to effectively communicate technology-oriented concepts.
