The Mobile team at Zscaler is responsible for developing a cross-platform client application for Windows, MacOS, Android, IOS and Linux, to securely steer endpoint traffic to Zscaler cloud. The ideal candidate for this position will have a background in software development, testing, and deployment with a strong focus on performance, reliability and quality. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with development teams to ensure that our software meets the highest standards of reliability and quality.
Summary:
We are hiring a fulltime Android Engineer at Sr Software Engineer level to join the mobile engineering team. You will be building products that secure mobile devices, application and data. This is a very visible, key role within our engineering group.
Responsibilities:
- Research Android platform, Security
- Develop and maintain Android applications and frameworks
- Work with product managers to translate the product requirements to technical requirements.
- Translate designs and mock-ups into high quality code
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer escalations
Minimum Qualifications:
- 7+ years of exp on in Java programming AND/ OR C++
- Strong experience and understanding of networking protocols is needed
- Expert in Android internals (networking stack and device management) is preferred
- Strong Experience with Android SDK, NDK, JNI and different versions of Android is preferred
- Experience with PKI, network security technologies and protocols preferred
- Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
- Experience with RESTful APIs, offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
- Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
- Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience implementing VPN , firewall type solutions on Android
- Experience in security industry
- Worked on platform-level component specific to Android
- Experience or familiarity with iOS platform
