THE ROLE

We are in the process of revolutionizing a 277-year-old business, and we’re growing our technology team with exceptional engineers and engineering leaders who will help reshape the future of Sotheby’s through exceptional engineering practices, software development, and design. 

You have a passion for building elegant and accessible mobile applications. You are customer-focused and passionate about delivering apps that will delight your users. You believe collaboration, working with the business, customers, product, design, and other engineers, produces the best products. You care about engineering best practices and building an environment that enables your teammates to succeed. You’re comfortable both diving into complex technical and architectural problems and providing mentorship for your peers and teammates.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work as part of the mobile engineering team to build mobile applications that will delight our users.
  • Work closely with engineers, product owners, and stakeholders across the company.
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with peers to build amazing products.
  • Mentor and pair to encourage the growth of others.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

  • 5+ years of experience in mobile development with a focus on the Android platform.
  • You are driven by an improvement mindset and a solution oriented approach.
  • Experience with good software design patterns and architecture.
  • Experience developing high quality mobile UI with excellent user experience.
  • You have experience developing in Kotlin with Jetpack Compose and Flow (plus points for SwiftUI experience)
  • You have experience and an understanding of microservices, GraphQL, and API architecture and design.
  • A passion for good mobile design.
