Dept is hiring Senior Android Developer

This role is part of our Experience & Engineering business team. We combine our skills in developing future-ready technical solutions with our expertise in creating beautiful designs to deliver exceptional and engaging digital experiences that build lasting relationships with our clients like Gant, Inter Milan, bol.com and Just Eat Takeaway.

JOB PURPOSE

As a Mobile Developer, you have a sixth sense for what the user needs and you know how to apply it to delivering quality and innovative mobile applications. You will create the best solutions which you independently translate to the perfect end result. You know that it’s not only about creating new features, but also continuously coming up with new ideas to make the app better for users and stay ahead of competitors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in a variety of global digital projects for high-profile brands;
• Combine your interpersonal skills and knowledge to interpret client request and translate them into reality;
• Strive to find better tools and techniques to introduce into the workplace;
• Act as a bridge between design and development in a multidisciplinary team;
• Look beyond your own field of expertise and therefore make a clear mark on every end product.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• At least 5 years of experience as an Android developer;
• Experience with Kotlin (Plain Java is not what we thrive to do anymore);
• Strong affinity with mobile and UX technology;
• Experience with architectures like MVVM;
• Familiarity with SOLID programming principles;
• Knowledge of libraries like OkHttp, Retrofit & Dagger 2;
• Familiarity with measuring tools like Firebase / Crashlytics;
• Strong testing game with Mocks, Fakes & Unit testing;
• Understanding of the full mobile development life cycle;
• Working proficiency of both Dutch and English;
• Direct availability to start working in the Netherlands.
