What You’ll Do
If you are looking for a product-centric, quick-adapting company to launch your career, look no further. Gabb is looking for a Junior Android Developer to join our dynamic Engineering team! As a Junior Android Developer on the team, you will have the opportunity to help build new features on our new and existing products that our customers love. You will also get to learn from many incredibly smart and talented developers and be at the forefront of safe technology. Additionally, you will:
- Attend daily stand-up meetings to discuss progress, blockers, and plans for the day.
- Work on features and user interface components under the guidance of senior developers.
- Fix bugs and issues in the application.
- Write unit tests for the code they write and identify and fix simple bugs.
- Participate in code reviews to learn best practices and improve coding standards.
- Document the code they write and maintain technical documentation for features and functions.
- Continue to improve coding skills and learn new technologies.
- Implement tasks assigned by Tech Lead, gradually increasing in complexity.
- Learn lower-level Android and Android Open Source Project (AOSP) internals.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Familiar with coding languages such as Java and Kotlin.
- Knowledge of Android SDK and Compose component frameworks.
- Basic understanding of RESTful APIs and third party libraries.
- Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
- A strong desire to learn and improve.
- Careful attention to detail to avoid and fix bugs.
