As a Full-Stack Vue Web & Android Developer at EpiSci, your role is pivotal, web Graphical User Interfaces for command and control of our autonomy & AI software. \n- Write full-stack Vue or android applications that command and control real autonomous aircraft systems such as F16 fighter jets, group 1-5 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), as well as simulated models and more to accomplish tactical military missions.
- Collaborate with autonomy engineers to implemented production level software to control autonomous UASs.
- Implement, leverage and improve state-of-the-art web development technology for command and control of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) that to perform tactical military missions.
- Autonomy loops such as: “Sense, Make Sense, Decide, Act (SMDA)”, “Observe, Orient, Decide, Act (OODA)” loops., “Perceive, Decide, Act’ (PDA)” loops.
- Sense: Environment sensing and modeling, computer vision, sensor processing, classification, anomaly detection.
- Make Sense: Environment mapping, data interpretation, 3D voxel grids, GeoGrids, WGS84, aerospace coordinate systems and reference frames (north east down (NED), Geocentri & Geodetic latitudes, Earth-centered-inertial (ECI), earth centered earth fixed (ECEF)), no fly zones, keep-in/keep-out zones. Sensor fusion and target tracking, etc. Find, fix, track, target (F2T2).
- Decide: State machines, behavior trees, optimization algorithms, constraint solving, classic algorithms (A*, RRT*, DFS, BFS, Branch & Bound, Random Forests), heuristics, optimization, Kalman filters, particle filters, etc. Artificial intelligence techniques such as deep reinforcement learning, reinforcement learning, machine learning, neural networks, supervised learning, unsupervised learning, generic algorithms, Bayesian networks, fuzzy logic, etc.
- Act: Autonomous 2D & 3D UAS trajectory/motion planning, route planning, SLAM. Classical controls systems, optimal control systems, adaptive control systems, model predictive control systems, especially for integration of 3rd party UAS autopilots. Guidance, navigation, and controls (GNC).
- Build, leverage, and improve or android Full-Stack web command and control applications for robotic autonomy software architectures that are deployed on real systems to accomplish military missions.
- Design Full-Stack web or android command and control applications to control autonomy software in collaboration with autonomy engineers.
- Support live flight test of autonomy software on F16s, group 1-5 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
- Collaborate with 3rd party UAS vehicle vendors on the integration of EpiSci autonomy software stacks onto OEM UAS hardware or command and control stations.
- Collaborate with domain experts and prior DoD warfighters (ex. DoD fighter pilots) to build software solutions for military missions.
- Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/related engineering field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing full-stack web GUIs for command and control of robotic systems.
- Technical Requirements:
- Experience building human machine interfaces for robotic systems​
- Experience working on frontend applications with data-intensive or map-based systems​
- Experience with GIS (visualization) tool and libraries​
- Experience with Frontend Technologies:​ Typescript, Javascript, Vue, ​React/Redux, React Native​, Android Java​
- Experience/interest in building front end applications from scratch.
- Experience/interest in hooking front end applications into back end stacks.
- Experience developing in Docker and containerized development environments, and using Windows, Android, and Linux-based operating systems (e.g., RHEL, Ubuntu).
- Experience using git, Visual Studio Code, GitLab, Nexus, SonarQube, Azure Container registry.
- Additional Requirements:
- Passion for solving complex problems with little supervision in a fast-moving team.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, frequently changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment.

- Travel Requirements
- Must be willing to travel as projects requires. Estimated average travel is once every other month for between 2 days up to 1 week. (~20%)
- Location Requirements
- This position requires that you be located within a drivable distance to Fort Walton Beach and Eglin Air Force Base in the Gulf Coast of Florida. The position is still hybrid: expect 2-3 days a week to be in the office, 2-3 days a week at home.

- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be eligible for a U.S. SECRET security clearance.
- Education Requirements:
- Master’s degree in computer science/related engineering field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience developing full-stack web GUIs for command and control of robotic systems.

- Familiarity with integrating web application into software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) development and testing.
