Assistant Manager - Android

JD:

 Manage the development and deployment processes – make sure that the features

are shipped optimally, and the product stays healthy once they hit production.

 Design, review, write and test code – this is hands-on engineering role, and you will

be directly involved in the design and development of new features, writing,

reviewing and testing code.

 Insist on the highest standards and create functional and engaging features that will

delight our users.

 Provide on-call 24/7 rota for the mobile apps and meet agreed SLAs for MTTR.

 Provide mentorship and feedback to teammates to make your team the best version

of itself. Motivate and encourage everyone to give their best work.

 Report to the Engineering Manager for Mobile App - own the technical delivery of

the in-house and outsourced teams.

Skills:

 Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal

with different screen size.

 Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end service.

 Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practice.

 Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.

 Ability to design applications around natural user interfaces, such as “touch”.

 Familiarity with the use of additional sensors, such as gyroscopes and

accelerometers.

 Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for

common tasks.

 Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical

requirements.

 Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.

 A knack for benchmarking and optimization.

 Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guideline.

 Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git

 Familiarity with continuous integration

 Experience in developing apps on platforms like REACTNATIVE / FLUTTER / IONIC.

 Experience of Integrating mobile app with money wallets and payment gateways.

 Good to have Experience with Responsive, Single Page Application and Progressive

Web App concepts (Not Mandatory)

 Good to have knowledge of Responsive Design using Bootstrap and Material Design.
