What You'll Do

• Provide technical leadership in the end-to-end design, development, and testing of solutions
• Work with technical leads, managers, and Product stakeholders to define and manage the technical roadmap
• Prepare and present potential technical solutions and advise the business on approach and tradeoffs
• Work with developers, business analysts, and subject matter experts to understand the complex technological system in order to produce integrated end-to-end solution options
• Provide high-level effort estimates in the absence of detailed requirements
• Communicate solution approaches to architects, project teams, and other stakeholders
• Keep up to date on cutting-edge technologies and effectively incorporate that knowledge into our platform roadmap, design, and implementation

What You Know

• A minimum 6+ years of hands-on experience in Native Android development.
• Programming Languages: Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java.
• Android Development: Strong understanding of the Android SDK.
• Experience with Android Studio.
• UI/UX Design: Knowledge of XML for designing layouts. Knowledge of Jet Pack compose UI. Ability to create responsive and user-friendly interfaces. Architecture and Design Patterns: Familiarity with architectural patterns such as MVVM (Model-View-ViewModel) or MVC (Model-View-Controller).
• Understanding of design principles and best practices.
• API Integration: Experience working with RESTful APIs. Ability to integrate third-party libraries and APIs.
• Database Management: Proficiency in working with SQLite or other databases.
• Knowledge of Room Persistence Library.
• Version Control: Experience with version control systems, especially Git.
• Testing: Unit-testing skills, using tools like JUnit. Familiarity with UI testing frameworks like Espresso.
• Continuous Integration: Understanding of continuous integration and experience with tools like Jenkins or Travis CI.
• Deployment: Knowledge of the app deployment process on the Google Play Store. Understanding of signing and key management.
• Performance Optimisation: Ability to optimise app performance and identify bottlenecks.
• Debugging and Profiling: Proficient in debugging tools and performance profiling.
• Security: Awareness of mobile app security best practices.
• Nice-to-Have Skills: Cross-Platform Development:
• Familiarity with cross-platform development frameworks like Flutter or React Native.
• Dependency Injection: Knowledge of dependency injection frameworks like Dagger.
• RxJava or Kotlin Coroutines: Experience with reactive programming concepts.
• Push Notifications: Understanding of implementing push notifications.
• Bluetooth and IoT Integration: Experience with Bluetooth APIs and Internet of Things (IoT) integration.
• AR/VR Development: Familiarity with augmented reality (AR) or virtual reality (VR) development.
• Contributions to the Community: Contributions to open-source projects or participation in the developer community.
• Agile/Scrum: Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.

Education

• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in specific technical fields like computer science, math, or statistics preferred; or equivalent practical experience
