Dear Monzo Hiring Team, I’m excited to apply for the Android Engineer role at Monzo. I’m an Android engineer with 4.5+ years of experience building and shipping consumer mobile products at Target and Testbook, with a strong focus on customer outcomes, product quality, and measurable business impact. At Target, I’ve worked on customer-facing Android experiences where engineering outcomes were directly tied to business results. I led a cancellation-recovery experience that reduced guest cancellations by 11% and contributed to more than $12M in annual savings, helped integrate an in-house Virtual Assistant that delivered $4.2M in savings, and reworked the rating and review experience to increase submissions by 285%. I’ve also taken features from hackathon prototypes through production and owned modernization across multiple Android modules. Previously at Testbook, I helped build and ship Android experiences for a 10M+ user application using Jetpack Compose and Clean Architecture. I owned third-party SDK integrations, release cycles, reliability, and mentoring, while maintaining 99.6%+ crash-free users. What particularly attracts me to Monzo is the product-engineering mindset: small autonomous teams, customer-focused outcomes, resilient mobile experiences, and a strong Kotlin/Compose Android stack. I would bring hands-on production experience, a bias toward measurable outcomes, and a willingness to take ownership beyond individual features. I’d welcome the opportunity to discuss how my experience could contribute to Monzo’s Android team. Best regards, Akshat Srivastava
