Eduardo Mateus

I’m an Android software developer based in Luanda, Angola, currently working at Twala Technology, where I build the mobile version of the Fatura AO website using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose — from implementation through to release. My day-to-day work includes consuming REST APIs, applying dependency injection, version control with Git, and collaborating closely with the engineering team through code reviews and testing. Alongside my job, I’m deepening my software engineering fundamentals at 42 Luanda, an intensive, project-based programming school with no formal lectures — everything is learned by building and validated through peer code review. There, I’ve worked in C and C++ on projects like a Unix shell built from scratch and a multi-client IRC server, which strengthened my grasp of memory management, algorithms, and object-oriented programming. I have many technical skills in Android development I also work comfortably with AI tools like Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and have experience integrating LLMs (Google Gemini) into mobile apps using kong. Side projects I’m proud of: Ecobuild-AI (an AI-powered app for construction cost estimates, built at a hackathon), RestLy (a personal Android app with a nightly checklist and recurring reminders), and Docker Visualizer (a web tool to help students understand docker-compose setups).
