Android Developer Profile
Spoorthi Subramanya Bhat
My journey as a mobile developer began during my undergraduate studies,
where I worked on an indoor navigation system using BLE beacons. The project
combined sensor data processing and user-centered design to help users navigate
indoor spaces without GPS, sparking my interest in building software that bridges
real-world interaction with intelligent systems.
After graduating, I joined the R&D team at In Time Tec, where I engineered a
secure Android SDK for Equifax Inc. The SDK captured device signals like sensor
activity and location data to detect bots in production apps used by over 100K
devices. In parallel, I contributed to backend development with SQL automation and
API optimization for an e-commerce platform, solidifying my skills in full-stack
development and scalable Android architecture.
Currently, I’m pursuing my master’s in Computer and Information Science at
UMass Dartmouth, where I’ve continued to integrate Android development with
applied research. As a Graduate Student Assistant, I built ReLeaf - a Kotlin-based
Android app supporting patients recovering from substance use disorder. I integrated
Jetpack Compose, Room, MVVM, and Firebase to enable journaling, goal-setting,
and secure local storage. Analyzing app data helped us understand user behavior
and tailor check-ins and journaling prompts for better engagement.
I also led a research project on automating ICD code classification using NLP,
GPT-4, and hybrid hierarchical models. This work, accepted for publication at IEEE
CISOSE 2025, deepened my expertise in machine learning and semantic analysis,
skills I continue to apply in building smarter mobile interfaces and backend
intelligence.
I bring to the table strong experience with Jetpack Compose, Hilt, Firebase,
Room, Retrofit, Compose Multiplatform, and Ktor. My work spans sensor-based
SDKs, health apps, hybrid research projects, and full-stack systems, anchored in
performance, modularity, and meaningful impact, with added depth in applied AI/ML
and natural language processing for real-world mobile intelligence. I thrive in
collaborative teams and look forward to building apps that are technically sound and
truly user-focused.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I would love the opportunity to
bring my skills and passion for Android development to your team.
