Moving forward, my goal is to continue my journey of growth and development, not only as a proficient Android developer but also as a capable leader and mentor. I firmly believe in the adage "to teach is to know," and I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and expertise to foster growth within both individuals and teams. My previous role entailed building the core functionality for an auction application, which I thoroughly enjoyed, as it introduced new challenges, such as spot-on in-app time management and UI animation syncing all the while designing for a user base of over 40 year-olds (no Facebook sign-ins here) with speed and multiple form factors in mind. All this in compose, which I've grown to love. My current role differs in that I joined a fully functioning large-scale application, allowing me the opportunity to work on a completely different set of challenges, such as incremental refactoring of java/kotlin/xml UI to compose, modularisation by feature (myself in particular working on the wallet functionality), playing a pivotal role in defining how we create re-usable UI components and updating of tests to a more modern approach (introducing test robots and the Google Truth library). Going forward, I'd like to continue on my path of learning, both as a developer and a leader and or mentor as growth in all fields is important to me. To teach is to know. I relish being involved in all facets of the business, whether it's required or not. I am open to either a Senior or Lead Dev position and while I prefer a remote-first work environment, I am open to going in-office if required. As for perks, I'd appreciate the opportunity to attend any and all android and leadership-based events, such as the recent droidcon, LeadDev, and Android Dev Summit events I have recently attended.
