To introduce myself, my name is Alex Hosszu and I have been an Android developer for the past 4+ years and learning app development for myself while developing apps for my employees. The app which I’m proudest to have worked on is Brivo Mobile Pass, while the most well-known one is Burger King Spain and Portugal. Also, in order to improve my tech stack, in my free time, I am creating an app called GizzHQ, a social oriented app for a rock band, which will implement the latest Android recommended technologies. (s. a. Jetpack Compose with MVI, Dagger2, Kotlin Coroutines and Flows, Room, etc.) Burger King Spain – Is a food ordering app for the brand Burger King. Due to the age of the app, my responsibility was to refactor and renew components of the app while also help in the development of new features (s. a. Halloween and Christmas events or the ability to order for a specific table at a restaurant). I took on the full responsibility of ensuring that the app adhered to Google's guidelines for supporting Android 13. Brivo Mobile Pass – Gives you the ability to access secured areas with your smartphone by opening smart locks via Bluetooth or network, available exclusively for the Brivo Access cloud-based access control platform. As part of our Android team, was in charge of building and maintaining certain screens and features of the app. Utilizing the Android Beacon Library, I took on the sole responsibility of designing and implementing the Fluid Access feature. This feature enables users to open doors seamlessly without the necessity of direct interaction with their smartphones Brivo Install – Offers a convenient way to setup hardware via Bluetooth and network, which are vailable exclusively for the Brivo cloud-based access control platform. Was responsible for building and maintaining certain screens of the app. Together with an iOS developer, had the duty in creating a shared Kotlin Multiplatform module which would handle all of the communication protocols between the smartphone and external devices. GizzHQ – A work in progress social app for the band King Gizzard. The main point of this app is to improve my techstack with the new Android paradigm. It uses Clean Architecture, with Jetpack Compose + MVI, Appwrite as a backend (with plans to develop my own backend with Ktor), JUnit4 for unit testing and HILT for dependency injection. The majority of my technical stack revolves around Android, utilizing Activity and Fragment with XML, Kotlin, Retrofit, Coroutines, and MVVM architecture. I conduct unit testing with JUnit and Mockito, while UI testing is performed using Espresso. Additionally, I leverage Firebase for services like Crashlytics, Analytics, Realtime Database, and App Distribution. Over the past year I have also adapted to the new Android paradigm with Clean Architecture using Jetpack Compose with MVI/MVVM, Kotlin Coroutines and Flows, Koin and Ktor.
